RaritanLenape.org is an independent educational project created to honor the Lenape people and to better understand and share the Indigenous history of the Raritan watershed in present-day New Jersey.

This site draws on historical records, archaeological research, published scholarship, and publicly available resources produced by Lenape people, Nations, and communities. Much of the historical record was created by outsiders and is sometimes incomplete or open to different interpretations. Every effort is made to present this history accurately and respectfully.

As the site grows, contributions, experiences, perspectives, and corrections from Lenape people and communities are especially welcomed.

This website is not affiliated with or endorsed by any Lenape Nation or Indigenous organization. The site's creator is not of Lenape or other Indigenous heritage
